Details of the accident involving a BMW have been particularly disturbing. The victim was reportedly dragged for 1.5 kilometers by the car and was run over twice. Her husband, who survived the crash, recounted his desperate attempts to get the driver to stop the vehicle.
Shah’s arrest marks a significant development in the case, which had seen him and his family, including his mother and sister, missing for 72 hours following the incident.

According to police reports, CCTV footage revealed that Mihir Shah, after dragging Kaveri Nakva for 1.5 kilometers, stopped the car, swapped seats with his driver, and removed Kaveri’s body from under the vehicle.
He then left her body on the road before the driver reversed the BMW over it and fled the scene. The driver’s involvement has led to charges of culpable homicide, as the police argued that he was “well aware of his actions and helped the other accused”.
This incident bears a striking resemblance to a similar hit-and-run case in Pune, where two software engineers were killed, and the accused’s influential family allegedly tried to tamper with evidence and mislead authorities.
In the aftermath of the incident, the Mumbai Police formed 11 teams, including the Crime Branch, to locate and arrest Shah. A lookout notice was issued to prevent him from leaving the country. Following the accident, Shah and his co-accused, Rajrishi Bidawat, abandoned the BMW in Bandra.
