Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in Nagpur’s Reshimbagh area, paying floral tributes to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar. He also honored M.S. Golwalkar, the second leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was present on the occasion.
After the visit, PM Modi penned a heartfelt note in the visitor’s book, calling Hedgewar and Golwalkar “two strong pillars of RSS”, and stating that their legacy inspires millions of Swayamsevaks to serve the nation.

PM Modi Visits Deekshabhoomi, Offers Prayers
The Prime Minister also visited Deekshabhoomi, where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and his followers embraced Buddhism in 1956. He offered prayers to Mahatma Buddha, reinforcing his commitment to Ambedkar’s vision of equality and social justice.

PM Modi’s visit coincided with the RSS’ Gudi Padwa celebrations, marking the Hindu New Year. He also attended multiple engagements, including:
Laying the foundation stone for Madhav Netralaya Premium Centre – an extension of the Madhav Netralaya Eye Institute and Research Centre. This facility will feature:
✔ 250-bed hospital
✔ 14 OPDs & modular operation theatres
✔ Affordable eye care services
Visiting Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited’s Ammunition Facility – inaugurating:
✔ A 1,250-meter-long airstrip for UAV testing
✔ Live ammunition and warhead testing center
To ensure tight security, the SPG and local police conducted extensive surveillance ahead of the PM’s visit. His convoy of 20 security vehicles includes anti-explosive jammers. Over 5,000 security personnel, including the Bomb Detection Squad, Anti-Riot Team, and Quick Response Team (QRT), have been deployed across key locations.
