He also pledged that the Assembly elections would follow the reinstatement of statehood, allowing residents to engage with their elected representatives.

“The time is not far when Assembly Elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir will get the status of statehood. You will be able to share your dreams with your MLA and your ministers,” PM Modi affirmed, addressing the gathering in support of BJP candidates.

Furthermore, PM Modi assured that the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in Jammu and Kashmir would be conducted without the spectre of terrorism, strikes, stone-pelting, or cross-border firing, instilling confidence in the electorate.

“Please trust me, I will get rid of the problems plaguing Jammu and Kashmir for the last 60 years. I have fulfilled my promise as Jammu and Kashmir has completely transformed in the last 10 years,” he asserted.

Challenging the Congress and other opposition parties, PM Modi dared them to advocate for the reinstatement of Article 370, which was abrogated previously.

Seeking support for BJP candidates Jitendra Singh and Jugal Kishore from Udhampur and Jammu respectively, PM Modi emphasized the need for a strong government at the Centre capable of confronting the nation’s challenges head-on.

Modi’s attack for mutton during sawan

In a separate segment of his speech, PM Modi criticised Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav for allegedly cooking mutton during the month of Sawan last year, insinuating their disregard for majority sentiments.

“The people of Congress and INDI alliance do not care about the sentiments of the majority of the people of the country. They enjoy playing with the sentiments of the people,” PM Modi remarked, without directly naming the leaders. He likened their actions to those of the Mughals, accusing them of attempting to provoke the populace.

PM Modi’s comments referred to a viral video from last year showing Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi cooking mutton together, which stirred controversy.
