Mitali Express will be the third passenger train service between India and Bangladesh. The train will cover a distance of 513 kilometre.

New Delhi: Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and his Bangladesh counterpart Mohammad Nurul Islam Sujon flagged off the Mitali Express between New Jalpaiguri in India and Dhaka in Bangladesh via a video conferencing on Wednesday.
Speaking at the occasion, Vaishnaw said, “The relationship between India and Bangladesh is based upon our shared heritage, our shared present and our shared future. The development that we have in both the countries is today accelerated in a very big way by the warm friendship between the two nations at all levels.”
He added, “Mitali Express will be yet another milestone in increasing this friendship, in strengthening this bond, in improving this relationship.”
Mitali Express will be the third passenger train service between India and Bangladesh. The New Jalpaiguri-Dhaka Cantonment train, bearing number 13132, will run two days a week — Sunday and Wednesday — and for the return journey, train no 13131, Dhaka Cantonment-New Jalpaiguri run every Monday and Thursday.
The train will cover a distance of around 513 kilometre between the two stations in nine hours. The train will run with four air-conditioned cabin coaches, four air-conditioned chair car coaches and will be hauled by a diesel locomotive.
According to officials, AC cabin berth tickets have been priced at Rs 4,905, AC cabin chair car tickets are Rs 3,805 and AC chair car tickets have been priced at Rs 2,707.
The tickets for this train will be available at the overseas Passenger Reservation System counters at the New Jalpaiguri Station and Kolkata Railway Station.
