Party said that Ramlila Maidan is ready for the protest because the country is united against inflation and unemployment.
New Delhi: Hitting out at BJP-led central government ahead of ‘Mehangai Par Halla Bol’ rally, Congress Party on Sunday said that unemployment and inflation are two brothers of the government. The party, which has called for a massive protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi on Sunday, said that people are reeling severely due to spiralling prices of essential commodities and unemployment as the government is least concerned about people.
Taking dig at the government, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Raja (king) busy in earning friends with people suffering from inflation today, people have to think ten times even before buying what they need. Only the Prime Minister is responsible for these problems. We will keep adding voices against inflation, the king will have to listen.”
Congress general secretary and communication in-charge Jairam Ramesh said, “The biggest problem facing the public today is inflation and unemployment, we also had a strong demonstration on 5th August. Want to send a message to the insensitive Modi government from this rally that people are suffering from inflation and unemployment, and a solution should be found.”
“People should have got relief after the pandemic but Modi made inflation have brought disaster. That is why today the Congress party is going to hold a rally on inflation at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. Come together, raise your voice against inflation,” he said.
Ramesh in another tweet, informed, “During Mehangai Par Halla Bol rally, a massive crowd has been gathered at Ramlila Maidan. All the pandals are full to capacity and thousands of people are still standing outside the ground.”
Congress party’s official twitter handle said, “Ramlila Maidan is ready for the Mehangai Par Halla Bol rally because the country is united against inflation and unemployment.”
