Jabalpur: A university at Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh encountered an unexpected oversight when it failed to conduct an examination for a particular subject, despite previously releasing the timetable and issuing admit cards to students.
When students arrived at the Rani Durgavati University for their MSc computer science exam, they were informed that the scheduled test would not take place due to the unpreparedness on the part of the university.
Prompted by the students’ protests at the university, the administration initiated an investigation into the matter and pledged to take appropriate action against the responsible individuals.
The university had initially announced the timetable for the M.Sc. Computer Science first-semester exam in February, with the exam scheduled for Tuesday. However, students, including those from neighbouring districts, were taken aback to discover the lack of preparations upon their arrival.

Reacting to the error, members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) entered the Vice Chancellor’s office and voiced their discontent, demanding strict consequences for those deemed accountable for jeopardizing the students’ futures.
In response to the uproar, the Vice Chancellor promptly demanded an explanation from two staffers responsible for overseeing the examination, with assurances that appropriate measures would be taken pending the submission of the probe report.
Recognising the gravity of the situation, the registrar of the Madhya Pradesh-based university, Dr Deepesh Mishra, confirmed the formation of an inquiry committee to address the negligence. A revised timetable has been issued, rescheduling the MSc Computer Science first-semester exam to take place from March 7-15.
