The seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha elections commenced on Saturday, with prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, among those contesting.
As of 11 am, voter turnout across seven states and the Union Territory of Chandigarh stands at 26.3 percent. Odisha has recorded the lowest turnout at 22.6 percent, while Himachal Pradesh has the highest at 31.9 percent.
By 1pm, the total voter turnout climbed to 40.09 percent, with Himachal still at the top spot at 48.63 percent. The overall figure marginally increased to 49.68 percent with Jharkhand climbing to the top at 60.14 percent voting. The average turnout at 5 pm stood at 58.34 percent. West Bengal had the highest voter turnout, 69.89 percent.
Voting is taking place across 57 constituencies in seven states and Chandigarh, deciding the fates of 904 candidates. Campaigning concluded on Thursday with massive rallies led by top political figures nationwide.

The constituencies going to the polls today include:
– Thirteen seats in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab
– Nine in West Bengal
– Eight in Bihar
– Six in Odisha
– Four in Himachal Pradesh
– Three in Jharkhand
– The lone seat in Chandigarh
Key BJP candidates in this phase of the Lok Sabha elections:
– PM Narendra Modi from Varanasi
– Union Minister Anurag Thakur from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh
– Ravi Shankar Prasad from Patna Sahib, Bihar
– Actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh
From the Congress:
– Manish Tewari from Chandigarh
– Vikramaditya Singh from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh
– Ajay Rai from Varanasi
Additionally, Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee is contesting from Diamond Harbour.
As the final phase of voting progresses, all eyes are on the voter turnout and the eventual outcome, which will shape the next Lok Sabha.
