New Delhi: Thousands of farmers are sitting on an indefinite dharna near CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence to protest against not fulfilling of their 12 points demands by state government.
Since past 36 hours they have been asking Kejriwal about their identity but Kejriwal is so busy in political tourism and corruption he is least bothered about farmers plight. While addressing them here today the BJP MP Parvesh Sahib Singh quipped both Kejriwal and farmers are like opposite words.
The late CM Sheila Dikshit too did nothing for farmers. Last 20 years have seen no development work done for farmers whether it was Sheila Dikshit or now Kejriwal. He doesnt even know number of villages in Delhi. In fact both never realised the pain of farmer or a village, he said. State BJP Media Head Shri Naveen Kumar Jindal, Kisan Morcha President Shri Vinod Sehrawat, Morcha General Secretary Shri Anoop Chaudhary and others were present in the protest.
Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh said the farmers are original residents of Delhi on whose land the city is situated and habilitated. But whenever one talks of development their number comes in the end. This is because earlier Congress and now AAP government think there is no farmer left in Delhi. This is the reason there is no provision of compensation if farmers produce get spoiled due to vagaries of the nature. He wondered if any of Kejriwal’s minister or MLA has done anything for farmers.
The MP said he is making unsuccessful attempt to promise farmers a lot in poll bound states but fact is Kejriwal has done nothing for farmers here in Delhi.
While congratulating state kisan morcha head Shri Vinod Sherawat he said this protest is proof that Kejriwal is a “big dhongi”. In Delhi’s villages whatever schools, colleges, stadium, roads, I P University came up or whatever lal dora was extended it was all done during late CM Sahib Singh’s tenure, he asserted.
