Canadian PM Justin Minister has turned down the offer of US elected President Donald Trump of making Canada, the 51st state of the United States. Trudeau in an interview with CNN highlighted, “That’s not gonna happen. Canadian are incredibly proud of being Canadian. One of the ways we define ourselves most early is we are not American.”
Trudeau called Trump a nice negotiator, adding, “What I think is happening in this is President Trump, who is a very skilful negotiator, is getting people to be somewhat distracted by that conversation.” Trudeau rejected Trump’s proposal saying, “There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States”.

In addition, Trudeau pointed out the inflation in prices of American goods like Heinz ketchup, playing cards, bourbon and Harley-Davidson motocycles, when Canada imposed tariffs earlier in 2018. Trudeau highlighted, “But we don’t want to do that because it drives up prices for Canadians and it harms our closest trading partner.”
