In a significant meeting chaired by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the state cabinet approved several crucial decisions aimed at governance, legal compliance, infrastructure, and higher education development. The Jharkhand Cabinet also approved the regularization of retired employees’, Raj Kumar Ram and Vijay Kumar Thakur, services following various High Court orders.
Revised GST Rate for Construction Work
To align with the increased Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate for construction works from 12 percent to 18 percent, the cabinet sanctioned a revised process for payment adjustments under the Urban Development and Housing Department.
The cabinet approved the dismissal of Matias Vijay Toppo, an officer of Jharkhand Administrative Services, who was serving as Director of Accounts Administration and Self-Employment at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Hazaribagh. This decision was taken following disciplinary proceedings against him.

Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme
The government has introduced the Jharkhand State Higher Education Award Scheme, which aims to recognize and reward teachers, students, administrators, and institutions for their outstanding contributions to the higher education sector in the state.
In compliance with the Jharkhand High Court’s orders, the cabinet has approved the creation of two assistant teacher shadow positions at Doranda Balika Uchcha Vidyalaya, Ranchi. These positions will be effective from February 26, 2009, to December 31, 2017, ensuring compliance with previous court rulings.
