A recent social media post by an influencer has stirred a controversy over the sodium content in IndiGo’s pre-packed meals. The influencer claimed that these meals contain higher sodium levels than the popular instant noodle brand Maggi. This comparison has raised concerns among frequent flyers and health-conscious consumers.
A popular influencer named, Revant Himatsingka, also known as “Food Pharmer”, has recently taken the internet by storm. In his ‘X’ post, he claims that certain pre-packed meals served by IndiGo on flights contain ” high sodium”.
The caption of the post conveys, ” Just because “Upma”, “Poha”, “Dal chawal” sounds healthy, does not mean they are healthy. Always remember junk food pretending to be healthy, does not mean they are healthy, is even more dangerous than junk food”.
He also said that IndiGo’s poha has almost double the sodium content of Maggi and IndiGo’s dal chawal has almost equal content.

Revant also added that consuming excessive sodium regularly can lead to an increase in blood pressure, and it can also cause hypertension, heart-related ailments and kidney problems. He also conveyed the message to his followers to share the video as much as possible. This revelation has led to debates about the nutritional value and quality of in-flight meals provided by airlines.
