Operation Sindoor Updates | Pakistan Ceasefire Violation Amid Truce Talks | The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Sunday confirmed that Operation Sindoor, the wide-scale counter-offensive launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, is still underway, despite a ceasefire announcement made by both India and Pakistan just a day earlier.
In an official post on social media platform X, the IAF stated: “Since the operations are still ongoing, a detailed briefing will be conducted in due course. The IAF urges all to refrain from speculation and dissemination of unverified information.”
The statement comes amid renewed hostilities, with Pakistani drones being intercepted and heavy shelling reported in multiple areas, including Rajouri and Srinagar, casting doubt over the longevity and sincerity of the ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump.
IAF Executes Precision Strikes with BrahMos Missiles
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, speaking alongside Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, confirmed that BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles were deployed during Operation Sindoor, targeting multiple terror facilities deep inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Punjab province.
“The Indian Air Force has successfully executed its assigned tasks in Operation Sindoor, with precision and professionalism. Operations were conducted in a deliberate and discreet manner, aligned with national objectives,” the IAF said in a follow-up post.

These targets included nine terror camps, which were struck in the intervening nights of May 6 and 7, following the deadly April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
Ceasefire Crumbles: Explosions, Drone Attacks Reported in J&K
Despite public declarations of peace, the ceasefire began to unravel within hours. Air defence systems were reactivated on Saturday evening as multiple Pakistani drones were detected and destroyed near Army installations.
Residents of Srinagar and Baramulla reported hearing loud explosions. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, taking to X, questioned the ceasefire’s validity: “What the hell just happened? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
“This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.”
According to defence officials, at least four drones were neutralized near Army headquarters, and ground forces were placed on high operational alert amid fears of further incursions.

The Indian Air Force’s announcement comes just a day after the United States claimed credit for brokering a peace deal, hailed by President Trump on Truth Social as a “full and immediate ceasefire.”
However, the resumption of hostilities, particularly Pakistan’s renewed cross-border aggression, has cast serious doubt on the ceasefire’s durability. Indian officials have reiterated that military readiness remains high, and responses to any violations will be swift and decisive.
India’s Strategic Position Remains Firm
Sources in the government confirm that India’s strategic decisions, including the temporary suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, will not be affected by the ceasefire. National security and counter-terror objectives remain the top priority.
With Operation Sindoor still in progress, and the IAF preparing for further action if necessary, the region continues to teeter on the edge of conflict — even as diplomatic efforts try to pull it back from the brink.
