Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday emphasized the importance of strong inter-state relations, coordination, and partnerships in building a robust and developed nation. Speaking at the 8th edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit 2025 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Kolkata, he highlighted how global business summits play a pivotal role in fostering trade relationships between states and nations.
These events open doors for new investments, technology transfers, and economic growth, he said.
Jharkhand Offers Immense Investment Opportunities
CM Soren welcomed entrepreneurs and investors at the summit, stating that this event provides an opportunity to connect with business leaders and industry experts from India and abroad. He extended an open invitation to investors to explore the potential of Jharkhand and contribute to its rapid economic development.
Highlighting Jharkhand’s strategic significance, CM Soren noted that the state possesses nearly 40 percent of India’s mineral resources and is the largest producer of raw materials crucial for industries. The state has long been a hub for mineral-based industries, attracting major industrial houses. However, he emphasized the need for new investments and industries to further accelerate Jharkhand’s economic progress.
Beyond Minerals: Exploring New Sectors
Beyond mineral-based industries, Jharkhand offers vast opportunities in art, culture, tourism, and textiles. The state is India’s largest producer of tussar silk, making it a prime location for textile investments.
