A helicopter carrying four people crashed in Pune’s Paud area on Saturday, following strong winds and severe weather conditions. The AW 139 helicopter, operated by Global Vectra Helicorp, took off from Juhu in Mumbai and was en route to Vijayawada in Hyderabad when it went down. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, although the pilot sustained injuries in the incident.
The helicopter’s pilot, identified as Anand, was injured and has been transported to Sadar Hospital for treatment. The other three passengers on board are reported to be in stable condition.

An official said the pilot of the helicopter is being taken to the hospital, while the other three are stable. The helicopter belongs to Global Vectra company. The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.
The crash occurred amid adverse weather conditions in the region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued orange alerts for Pune and Satara districts, warning of heavy rainfall due to a low-pressure area over the east-central Arabian Sea off the Maharashtra coast. The IMD predicts that the weather system will bring rain to most parts of Maharashtra over the next 48 hours.
This incident follows another helicopter crash in May, where a private chopper crashed while attempting to land. The pilot managed to escape just before the crash, avoiding serious injury.
The crash in Pune highlights the ongoing risks posed by severe weather conditions in the region, as authorities continue to monitor and respond to the situation. Further investigations will determine the exact cause of the crash and whether weather played a decisive role.
