Talking to the media ahead of his joining Hardik Patel said, “Will hold an event every 10 days and those unhappy with the Congress, including the MLAs, will be asked to join the BJP. PM Modi is a pride of the world.”
Gandhinagar: Days after quitting Congress, Gujarat’s Patidar leader Hardik Patel joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a party office in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar.
Thursday morning, the 28-year-old politician had tweeted, “With the feelings of national interest, state interest, public interest and social interest, I am going to start a new chapter today. I will work as a small soldier in the noble work of service to the nation under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister of India Narendra Bhai Modi,” Hardik Patel tweeted.
Talking to the media ahead of his joining Hardik Patel said, “Will hold an event every 10 days and those unhappy with the Congress, including the MLAs, will be asked to join the BJP. PM Modi is a pride of the world.”
On May 18, after submitting a letter to Sonia Gandhi, which contained some strong words against the Congress and the leaders, the 28-year-old Patidar leader had quit the Grand Old Party.
Taking to Twitter, Hardik had said, “Today I courageously resign from the post of Congress Party and primary membership of the party. I am sure that my decision will be welcomed by all my colleagues and the people of Gujarat. I believe that after this step of mine, I will be able to work really positively for Gujarat in future.”
Lashing out at the Congress, Hardik had said, “It is unfortunate that workers like us, who travel 500-600 kms in our cars in a single day to meet people, get to see that Big leaders of Congress in Gujarat are far away from issues of Gujarat but are more focussed on ensuring that Chicken Sandwich for leaders who have come from Delhi is delivered on time! Whenever I went among the youth I was always asked why I was in a party which constantly insulted Gujaratis – be it in the business sector, in matters of religion and even in politics. Gujaratis can never forget how the Congress party has insulted Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. I strongly believe that Congress has broken the faith youth had in the party for many years and that is why today no youngster is willing to be even seen as our worker or voter.”
