Billionaire Elon Musk is planning a unique family arrangement, bringing all 11 of his children and their mothers together in a grand mansion in Austin, Texas. Musk recently acquired a sprawling 14,400-square-foot Tuscan-inspired estate, along with an adjacent six-bedroom property, reportedly worth $35 million.
The setup, just 10 minutes from his Texas residence, is intended to help Musk stay close to his children and foster strong sibling relationships, according to The New York Times.
Inside Musk’s Family Life and Growing Family
Musk’s family dynamics are as unconventional as his ventures. He first became a father in 2002, but tragically lost his first child with ex-wife Justine Musk to sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old.
The couple later welcomed five children through IVF, including twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai. Although Musk and Justine divorced in 2008, he remained involved in his children’s lives.

After his public marriage and two divorces from British actress Talulah Riley, Musk fathered three more children with musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher. They share children named X Æ A-12 (nicknamed “X”), Exa Dark Sideræl (nicknamed “Y”), and a son named Techno Mechanicus (nicknamed “Tau”). Grimes and Musk are currently engaged in a legal battle over custody.
In 2021, Musk quietly welcomed twins with Shivon Zilis, an executive at his brain-technology company Neuralink. This year, he confirmed the existence of a third child with Zilis, expanding his family further.

Elon Musk, who has been outspoken about the importance of family and has previously advocated for higher birth rates, reportedly believes that bringing his children and their mothers together under one roof will allow his children to grow up knowing each other.
