In a surprising twist to the US presidential race, Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, after pop superstar Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the 2024 election.
Musk’s reaction came after Swift referred to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady”—a term that was earlier used by Republican vice presidential pick JD Vance to mock women without children.

Musk’s response was bold stating: “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
Swift’s Endorsement of Kamala Harris
The 34-year-old singer, who had previously kept her political endorsements under wraps, announced her support for Kamala Harris through a lengthy Instagram post. Taylor Swift described Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” who can guide the country toward progress with “calm, not chaos.” She praised Harris’s selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, highlighting his long-standing advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive rights.

Swift added that she feels Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion,” signing off the post with her now viral self-designation, “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”
In her Instagram post, Taylor Swift also criticized the Donald Trump campaign for using AI-generated images to create false endorsements. She expressed concern about the dangers of AI-driven misinformation and declared that the best way to fight it was with truth and transparency.
“The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth,” Swift wrote.
