In a surprising twist to the US presidential race, Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk took to X (formerly Twitter), which he owns, after pop superstar Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the 2024 election.
Musk’s reaction came after Swift referred to herself as a “Childless Cat Lady”—a term that was earlier used by Republican vice presidential pick JD Vance to mock women without children.

Musk’s response was bold stating: “Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
Swift’s Endorsement of Kamala Harris
The 34-year-old singer, who had previously kept her political endorsements under wraps, announced her support for Kamala Harris through a lengthy Instagram post. Taylor Swift described Harris as “a steady-handed, gifted leader” who can guide the country toward progress with “calm, not chaos.” She praised Harris’s selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, highlighting his long-standing advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights and reproductive rights.

Swift added that she feels Harris “fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion,” signing off the post with her now viral self-designation, “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady.”
In her Instagram post, Taylor Swift also criticized the Donald Trump campaign for using AI-generated images to create false endorsements. She expressed concern about the dangers of AI-driven misinformation and declared that the best way to fight it was with truth and transparency.
“The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth,” Swift wrote.
Musk’s Unpredictable Response
Elon Musk’s playful comment sparked a whirlwind of reactions on social media, with fans and political commentators alike weighing in. Musk’s offer to “give [Swift] a child” and “guard [her] cats” was met with a mix of amusement and critique, further highlighting his unpredictable online persona.

As Taylor Swift made her endorsement, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump were locking horns in a fiery debate. Harris took direct aim at Trump, labeling him a “convicted felon” and accusing him of using race to divide the nation. Trump hit back, calling Harris a “Marxist” and accusing her of recycling campaign ideas from President Joe Biden.
With the US election just weeks away, the exchange between Musk and Swift has added an unexpected layer of pop culture intrigue to the already heated political landscape.
