Delhi CM, who extols the “Delhi Model of Health Care” , hides the fact that due to the shortage of surgeons and senior doctors, hospitals witness ‘death dances’ as a matter of routine, as patients die without getting proper treatment and attention.

New Delhi: Delhi Congress on Wednesday said that due to corruption and mismanagement in government hospitals, patients are put to terrible suffering, as they neither get proper treatment or food, nor proper care, and as a consequence, many avoidable deaths happen in such hospitals.
Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar said that the medical staff of G B Pant hospital, including nurses, held a protest on Tuesday, alleging corruption and irregularities by administration staff. He said that if this was the condition at a premier hospital, it can be surmised the level of corruption in other Government hospitals.
He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who extols the “Delhi Model of Health Care” everywhere, hides the fact that due to the shortage of surgeons and senior doctors in Delhi government hospitals, these hospitals witness ‘death dances’ as a matter of routine, as patients die without getting proper treatment and attention. “During Kejriwal’s tenure as chief minister, a whopping 8638 deaths took place in just one hospital, up to November 30th, 2021.
“It was shocking to learn that nearly 101 patients died after the installation of stent and angiography by unqualified doctors at a super specialty hospital at Dilshad Garden. When this question was raised in the Delhi Assembly, health minister Satyender Jain gave a vague reply regarding the constitution of a probe panel,” the Delhi Congress chief added.
“Vital equipment in government hospitals are lying inoperative due to various faults, but the concerned authorities have neither bothered to repair them, nor replace them with new ones. As a result, innocent patients become victims to the negligence of the authorities,” added Kumar.
