A massive fire erupted late Friday night at the 67-storey Marina Pinnacle building, also known as Tiger Tower, in Dubai’s upscale Marina district, prompting one of the city’s largest residential evacuations in recent years. According to the Dubai Media Office (DMO), all 3,820 residents from 764 apartments were successfully and safely evacuated by Dubai Civil Defence teams with no reported injuries.
The fire, which began late Friday, took over six hours to fully extinguish, as emergency crews battled intense flames and worked round the clock to prevent casualties. The DMO confirmed that “specialised teams successfully evacuated all residents from the 67-storey building, prioritising their health and safety throughout the operation.”
Emergency Housing and Medical Support Arranged for Evacuated Residents
Authorities are now working closely with the building’s developer to provide temporary accommodation for displaced residents. The DMO said efforts are ongoing to ensure the health, safety, and mental well-being of those affected.
“Ambulance teams and medical staff are on site to offer full medical and mental support to the safely evacuated residents,” the DMO posted on X at 2:09 am. Just minutes later, at 2:21 am, it confirmed that all 3,820 occupants were safely evacuated without injuries.

While the exact cause of the fire has not been disclosed, this is not the first incident at Marina Pinnacle. In May 2015, a kitchen fire on the 47th floor escalated to the 48th floor before it was controlled, also by Dubai Civil Defence.
Thanks to the swift coordination between emergency services and building management, another potential tragedy was averted, with the city once again demonstrating its preparedness in handling high-rise emergencies.
