India successfully conducted the second consecutive test of the Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile (VLSRSAM) on Friday, September 13, from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur on the Odisha coast, according to sources from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). This follows an earlier successful test on September 12.
In both tests, the VLSRSAM successfully intercepted high-speed, low-altitude aerial targets designed to mimic sea-skimming threats, demonstrating its precision and ability to neutralize airborne threats. These tests further validate the weapon system’s reliability and recent upgrades made to enhance its performance.
