Sources said premises linked with businessmen, distributors and supply chain networks in Nellore, a few cities of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi and its neighbouring areas are being raided.
New Delhi: A day after the BJP launched a new “sting video” and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia dared the Centre to arrest him, the Enforcement Directorate on Friday initiated a search operation at 40 locations across several states. The searches are a part of the probe against the alleged money laundering liked with the irregularities in the Delhi excise policy.
Sources said premises linked with businessmen, distributors and supply chain networks in Nellore, a few cities of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Delhi and its neighbouring areas are being raided.
This comes after the agency last week searched 45 locations in Delhi, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Haryana. The raids come on a day when Delhi minister Satyendar Jain is to be quizzed in the liquor scam in Tihar Jail.

On Thursday, while releasing a “sting video”, BJP leaders in a press conference said, “The scam sting of the Aam Aadmi Party has come to the fore. In that scam, accused number-9 Amit Arora has exposed the entire system. How much money was taken from whom? How the scams happened, everything has been exposed. The entire policy was prepared only for the scam.”
Amid the alleged liquor scam probe, earlier this month, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Arvind Kejriwal proved its majority in the Assembly. The government won the trust vote as 58 MLAs voted in its support. The party has 62 MLAs out of total strength of 70 MLAs in the assembly while the Opposition BJP has eight MLAs.
The AAP government had brought a confidence motion on the floor of the assembly after raising allegations that the BJP is trying to poach its MLAs. The party leaders have said that BJP has started ‘Operation Lotus’ to topple the government but failed to break it. On September 29, Arvind Kejriwal had tabled the motion on the floor of the house in this regard.
