Delhi Chief Secretary conducts field inspection in Sangam Vihar, directs officials to expedite infrastructure projects

The Chief Secretary of Delhi Naresh Kumar led a team of senior officials from various departments on a field inspection in Sangam Vihar on Tuesday. This initiative was taken to ensure effective compliance with the directives issued by the Lt. Governor during his recent visits to the area on March 4th.

The inspection commenced from the Police Station Sangam Vihar, with Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar leading the officials on foot to various locations within Sangam Vihar. The focus of the visit was on several key aspects, including the removal of debris, enhancement of civic amenities, construction of steel frames/slabs on drains, covering drain holes and preventing waterlogging.

During discussions with line departments on the ground, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar provided specific directives to address various issues. Regarding the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), officials were instructed to survey existing borewells, shift borewell pumps obstructing the Right of Way (ROW), and complete pending work of manholes on Mangal Bazar Road within one week. The DJB informed that 23 km of sewer network laying work out of 35 km has been completed, with a target to finish the remaining by June 30th.

For the Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) department, Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar directed officials to open Tigiri Road by March 16th, followed by sewer line laying on Nai Basti Road by April 16th. Similar directives were given to the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) for repairing culverts, fixing manhole covers and constructing roads.

The inspection also included visits to educational institutions like GGSKV and GBSSS C BLOCK SANGAM VIHAR, focusing on infrastructure improvement. Four main areas were identified for enhancement, including construction of a new borewell, renovation of school buildings, removal of hard rock for playground development, and construction of additional rooms.
