A new era in Delhi politics has begun as Rekha Gupta took the oath as the Chief Minister of Delhi, ending the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) decade-long rule. Along with her, six BJP leaders were sworn in as cabinet ministers, marking the party’s return to power in the national capital after 27 years.
A Union Home Ministry notification confirmed that President Droupadi Murmu, on the advice of CM Rekha Gupta, appointed Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma, Kapil Mishra, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ashish Sood, Ravinder Indraj, and Pankaj Kumar Singh as ministers in the Delhi government.
The grand oath-taking ceremony at Ramlila Maidan was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior BJP leaders, and thousands of supporters.
