Delhi, on Monday, recorded 501 new cases of Coronavirus with zero death. With this, 290 recoveries were also reported. Total active cases in the city reached 1,729 while positivity rate touched 7.72 per cent.

New Delhi: Amid sudden spurt in Covid-19 cases in the national Capital, Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) may reportedly discuss mandatory use of mask. The authority can also discuss hybrid mode of teaching-online & offline- for school children. The city has been reporting more than 500 cases since two consecutive days.
As per the report, the DDMA may chair a meeting soon to discuss Covid situation in the city.
Though the DDMA, in a recent order, had scrapped fine of Rs 500 not waering mask in public places but the city has been witnessing sharp rise in positive cases. Owing to this, the disaster body, chaired by Lieutenant Governor (L-G), make discuss mandatory use of mask. There might be provision of fine on violation of the order.
The UP government on Monday made wearing of mask compulsory for people living in the state capital NCR cities including Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.
During the meeting, discussion over hybrid mode education, offline & online, for school going children may take place. The city has been reporting Covid cases among school students as schools have been reopened after a gap of almost two years. Scolld across Delhi-NCR are in action after several students were found positive. The schools are taking various measures like sanitisation and asking students to follow Covid protocol. Neighbouring Haryana has also asked school authorities not to force students to join offline mode of classes.
