In a tragic incident, 27-year-old Lipi Rastogi, daughter of senior bureaucrats in Maharashtra, died in Mumbai early on Monday morning, the police said. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Lipi succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Lipi, a law student studying in Sonepat, Haryana, reportedly jumped from the 10th floor of a building near the state secretariat around 4 am. Authorities discovered a note in her room, indicating she was anxious about her exams.
Lipi was the daughter of Radhika and Vikas Rastogi, both IAS officers serving in the Maharashtra cadre. Vikas Rastogi is the Principal Secretary in the Education Department, while Radhika Rastogi holds the position of Principal Secretary in the Home Department.
Earlier in 2017, Maharashtra cadre IAS officers Milind and Manisha Mhaiskar lost their 18-year-old son after he died by suicide in Mumbai.
