A female employee working at Kolkata’s Raj Bhavan has come forward with allegations of harassment against West Bengal Governor Dr CV Ananda Bose. The serious accusations have prompted the employee to file a formal complaint with the Hare Street Police Station.
Reports indicate that law enforcement authorities are actively investigating the complaint and the allegations made by the employee.
The timing of these allegations is significant as they emerge just prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled two-day visit to West Bengal, during which he will be participating in rallies for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.
CV Ananda Bose, a retired 1977 batch IAS officer, assumed the role of West Bengal Governor on November 23, 2022. His tenure has been marked by troubling accusations, which have drawn attention and concern from various quarters.
The specifics of the allegations against Governor CV Ananda Bose have not been detailed publicly, but the gravity of the situation is underscored by the employee’s decision to formally report the matter to law enforcement. The police’s involvement signifies a swift response to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into the allegations.
Meanwhile, TMC MP Sagarika Ghose took to Twitter and wrote, “BIG. Bengal governor CV Ananda Bose accused of molesting a woman. How utterly APPALLING and HORRIFYING. The complainant has been taken to the Hare Street police station for filing a complaint. The woman has accused the Governor of molesting her. Shocking and disgraceful.”

In response, the Raj Bhavan, the official residence of the Governor, in a series of tweets said, “To the Raj Bhavan staff who expressed solidarity with Hon’ble Governor Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose against whom some derogatory narratives were circulated by two disgruntled employees as agents of political parties, Hon’ble Governor said: Truth shall triumph. I refuse to be cowed down by engineered narratives. If anybody wants some election benefits by maligning me, God Bless them. But they cannot stop my fight against corruption and violence in Bengal.”
