Representatives from European Union, France, Japan, India besides other countries have attended the final journey of Queen Elizabeth those of Russia, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Syria and North Korea were not invited.
New Delhi: Since funeral of Britain’s longest reigning Queen Elizabeth II is scheduled on Monday, Britain and rest of the world bids final farewell. Apart from royal family members and thousands of UK citizens, leaders from across the world and dignitaries have attended the ceremonial journey of the Queen who was died at 96.
With funeral of the longest serving queen, national mourning will come to an end in UK on Monday. According to the reports, more than 2000 dignatiries have attended the ceremonial journey along with the British royal family. Representatives from European Union, France, Japan, India besides other countries have attended the final journey of Queen Elizabeth those of Russia, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Syria and North Korea were not invited. As per the report, funeral will be live online and will be telecasted on television worldwide.
Gun carriage used for Queen Victoria’s funeral will be used to carry Queen Elizabeth’s coffin for funeral. A massive footfall was witnessed to watch the queen’s flag-draped coffin, topped with the Imperial State Crown, her orb and sceptre, was carried slowly to a gun carriage from parliament’s Westminster Hall.
Dressed in ceremonial military uniform, King Charles III and his three siblings followed the solemn procession. King Charles III is the successor of Queen Elizabeth II. The procession went through the Buckingham Palace and the coffin will be taken west by road to Windsor Castle. According to the media reports, people from across the United Kingdom were seen standing for a glimpse of procession. The coffin will be transferred by royal hearse to Windsor Castle, west of London, for a committal service and will be followed by a family-only burial in which the queen will be laid to rest alongside her late husband Prince Philip, her parents and her sister.
