Bangkok Mass Shooting: In a horrifying turn of events on Monday, a gunman opened fire at the bustling Or Tor Kor fresh food market in Bangkok, Thailand, killing many people before taking his own life. Among the deceased are four security guards employed at the market, a woman, and the shooter himself, according to initial reports from the Erawan Emergency Medical Centre.
The deadly shooting unfolded near Chatuchak Market, a major tourist hotspot in the Thai capital, plunging the area into chaos and fear. The tragedy has prompted an immediate and ongoing investigation by law enforcement officials.
Authorities Probe Motive Behind Bangkok Massacre
Deputy Police Chief of Bangkok’s Bang Sue district, Worapat Sukthai, confirmed to AFP that it was indeed a mass shooting, with police still working to uncover the motive. “Police are investigating the motive. So far it’s a mass shooting,” he stated.
