The backdrop of Sunita Kejriwal’s latest video message, delivered on behalf of her jailed husband Arvind Kejriwal, garnered attention due to a notable addition. While previous addresses featured portraits of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar, the latest video included a picture of Arvind Kejriwal with bars symbolising his imprisonment.
In the message, Arvind Kejriwal emphasised his commitment to serving the people of Delhi despite his incarceration. He urged every MLA to regularly visit their constituencies, address people’s problems and ensure their well-being. He reiterated his dedication to resolving not only government-related issues but also other concerns faced by the people.

The inclusion of the photo of Arvind Kejriwal in the message drew criticism from the BJP, accusing him of trying to mislead the public. BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva condemned the placement of Kejriwal’s portrait alongside those of Bhagat Singh and Babasaheb Ambedkar, labelling Kejriwal as corrupt.
Since his arrest in the Delhi liquor policy case, Sunita Kejriwal has been conveying messages from her husband to the people of Delhi. These messages were also reiterated during the ‘Save Democracy’ rally, where Arvind Kejriwal’s promises to the people were reiterated.
Arvind Kejriwal’s judicial custody until April 15 has not deterred his commitment to serving the people, as demonstrated by his messages delivered through his wife. The Delhi High Court is currently hearing his petition against his arrest, with the judgment reserved.
In a separate hearing seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal as the Chief Minister after his arrest, the High Court dismissed the petition, emphasising that democracy should take its own course according to its course.
