Stand-up comedian Pranit More has issued a second public apology following widespread criticism over comments made during a crowd interaction segment at one of his shows.
In his latest statement released on Saturday, More acknowledged that his reaction to remarks made by an audience member was a “lapse in judgment” and expressed regret over the incident.
The 370 biriyani controversy erupted after a video clip from More’s show circulated widely on social media, drawing criticism from users and public bodies alike.

The incident took place during a performance in Gurugram, where More was engaging with audience members. During the interaction, a web developer identified as Himanshu Jangra recounted an experience involving a date during which he spent Rs 370 on a plate of chicken biryani.
According to the viral clip, Jangra stated that after paying for the meal, he sought sexual favours when the woman requested a ride home. More was seen laughing during the exchange, prompting criticism from social media users who argued that the remarks normalised inappropriate behaviour.
More Seeks Second Chance Amid Legal Scrutiny
The comedian’s latest apology comes days after his social media account was deactivated and as he faces a cyber police case related to the alleged dissemination of objectionable content. In his statement, More sought a second opportunity from audiences and acknowledged the seriousness of the concerns raised over the incident.
His initial apology had failed to quell criticism, leading to renewed scrutiny of his conduct and the content featured during his performances.

NCW Summons Comedian and Audience Member
The National Commission for Women (NCW) intervened in the matter and on Thursday summoned both Pranit More and Himanshu Jangra. The commission stated that the comments and conduct displayed in the viral clip appeared to promote sexual coercion and non-consensual behaviour toward women.
The development intensified public attention on the controversy, with discussions continuing across social media platforms.
Following the backlash, Himanshu Jangra also issued an apology for his remarks. Separately, his employer terminated his services after the video gained widespread attention online.
The incident has sparked broader conversations about accountability in public performances and audience interactions shared on digital platforms.
Separate Clip Featuring MBBS Student Also Draws Criticism
In a separate controversy linked to More’s show, another video featured MBBS student Sejal Pawar making remarks about medical cadavers and male bodies used for educational purposes.
Authorities reportedly described the comments as disrespectful to the dignity of the deceased. After criticism emerged, Pawar also issued a public apology for her remarks.
The controversies surrounding the viral clips have led to ongoing discussions about content standards in live performances and online entertainment. Authorities continue to examine the matter while public reactions remain divided over issues of accountability, humour, and audience participation in stand-up comedy events.
