Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha’s convoy came under attack on polling day in Lakhisarai, as tensions flared amid the high-stakes Bihar Assembly election. Reports suggest that a crowd hurled stones, slippers, and objects at his convoy while shouting slogans against him.
According to a report, the incident occurred when Sinha’s convoy entered Khoriari village in the Lakhisarai constituency, where polling was underway in the first phase of elections.
“These are the goons of RJD. Satta mein aa rahi hai NDA, isliye inke chhati pe bulldozer chalega (The NDA will win the election and bulldozer will be run on their chests). The goons are not letting me visit the village. Vijay Sinha is going to win,” the Deputy CM said at the site.

Eyewitnesses said a mob tried to block the convoy’s entry, pelting stones and chanting “Murdabad.” The attack forced security personnel to form a human chain around the Deputy Chief Minister.
Sinha alleged that his polling agent was turned away from a booth and prevented from voting.
“They turned away my polling agent and did not let him vote. Look at their hooliganism. These are the 404 and 405 booth numbers of Khoriari village,” Sinha said.

Local police have yet to confirm any arrests, but additional security has been deployed around the area to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, the Chief Election Commissioner is believed to have spoken to the Bihar DGP asking for proper security of Sinha.
The attack on the Deputy CM’s convoy came as polling took place in 121 constituencies across Bihar, marking the first phase of the Assembly election.
The incident underscores the rising political tension between the ruling NDA and the opposition RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, as both camps accuse each other of violence and voter intimidation.
Authorities said polling in Lakhisarai resumed peacefully after the incident, though the Election Commission has sought a report from the district administration.
