The railway authority of Ukraine confirmed the report, claiming that the station was being used for evacuating civilians fleeing the war.
At least 30 civilians were killed and more than 100 were injured when Russian forces fired two rockets on a railway station in eastern Ukraine’s Kramatorsk on Friday. According to reports, a large number of civilians were waiting for a train when rockets were fired at the railway premises.

In a tweet, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine shared a couple of photographs of the purported attack and said, “Air strike at Kramatorsk is a deliberate and ruthless killing of civilians in Ukraine. Thousands of people were at the station, trying to evacuate. Dozens of them are dead and wounded. Russia is an evil and it will definitely be punished.”
“The ‘Rashists’ (‘Russian fascists’) knew very well where they were aiming and what they wanted: they wanted to sow panic and fear, they wanted to take as many civilians as possible,” Pavlo Kyrylenko, the governor of the Donetsk region, said.
He also shared pictures online in which dead bodies are seen lying on the railway station premise along with luggage bags and other belongings that are scattered here and there. It also showed Ukrainian rescue personnel at the site.

According to the report, as many as three trains were supposed to carry passengers from the war zone as they were stranded since Russia intensified its attack. Ukrainian authorities have reportedly advised its civilians to leave the war zones to save their lives.
Earlier, Ukraine had accused Russia of a “deliberate massacre” in the town of Bucha, 30 km (19 miles) north-west of the capital city of Kyiv. Bucha Mayor Anatoly Fedoruk had earlier told the media that 280 bodies were buried in mass graves.
Though Russia promised to cut down its military operations in Kyiv and Chernihiv after talks between negotiators in Turkey’s Istanbul, Russian forces have reportedly intensified its attack in various parts of the war affected country.
