While another BJP MLA Brajesh Pathak, a Brahmin leader, also took oath as Deputy Chief Minister. Dinesh Sharma has been replaced this time by Pathak.
Lucknow: After landslide victory in 2022 assembly elections, Yogi Adityanath on Friday took oath as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for the second time. With taking of oath, Yogi Adityanath become forst chief minister in 37 yaers who has retained his chair on second consecutive time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national BJP president J P Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, all BJP chief ministers and its allies like Nitish Kumar were present during the mega show of strength at Atal Bihari Vajpayee cricket stadium.

Moments after swearing-in ceremony, the UP CM called a two-hours long meeting of council of ministers in Lucknow. Jatin Prasada, a Congress turncoat who has also secured a birth in council of ministers, informed that Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting immediately after taking oath. A roadmap was reportedly chalked out in the meeting to overall development of country’s most populous state.
Surya Pratap Sahi, Swatandra Dev Singh, Baby Rani Maurya and former bureaucrat AK Sharma are among the ministers. The only Muslim minister in the new government is Danish Azad Ansari who took oath as minister of state. Aseem Arun, an UP cadre IPS officer who had joined the BJP after resigning from his job, Daya Shankar Singh, Nitin Agarwal and Sandip Singh, grandson of former chief minister Kalyan Singh, have been made ministers of state (independent charge).
According to the party sources, BJP is eyeing for at least 75 seats in the state in parliamentary elections which are scheduled in 2024. In recently concluded state assembly elections, BJP has won 255 out of 403 constituencies, securing a 41.29 per cent vote share.
