A day after high-voltage drama over the opposition march to the Election Commission, INDIA bloc leaders continued their protest on Tuesday against the alleged voter fraud and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar.
Several opposition leaders, including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, were seen outside Parliament wearing t-shirts featuring the photo of “Minta Devi” during the demonstration. Senior leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and opposition MPs from both Houses gathered in front of the Parliament gates to register their protest.
Minta Devi’s name in draft voter list sparks row
Minta Devi was one of the voters featured in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s presentation on alleged voter fraud. The Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha claimed that “124-year-old Minta Devi” appeared as a registered voter in Bihar’s recently released draft voter list. The roll listed her age as 124 — nine years older than the world’s verified oldest person.
