Jaunpur Boy Beheaded: In a tragic incident linked to a long-standing land dispute, a 17-year-old boy was brutally murdered in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur on Wednesday, as a feud spanning four decades between two parties erupted in violence. The teenager, identified as Anurag Yadav, was attacked with a sword, leading to his beheading in the village of Kabiruddin under Gaurabadshahpur police station.

Villagers and police reported the heart-wrenching scene as Anurag’s mother held his severed head in her lap for hours.

According to police officials, the dispute between the two parties had simmered for 40-45 years and turned fatal when members from one side pursued Anurag, whose father is Ramjeet Yadav, and attacked him.

The attacker, wielding a sword, struck with such force that Anurag was decapitated instantly.

Two individuals, identified as Ramesh and Laalta, have been taken into custody for questioning, though the prime suspect remains at large. Superintendent of Police (SP) Ajay Pal Sharma stated that efforts are underway to locate the sword-bearer and prevent further escalation in the area.

Several police teams were swiftly dispatched to the village to control the situation. SP Sharma, who visited the site along with District Magistrate (DM) Dinesh Chandra, affirmed that an investigation is ongoing. “The land dispute has been festering for 40 to 45 years. Two people from one of the parties, Ramesh and Laalta, were among those who attacked the opposite side, resulting in the tragic death of one person. We are investigating further,” said SP Sharma.

District Officials Commit to Severe Action

In response to the harrowing incident, DM Dinesh Chandra vowed that those involved in the crime would face the “harshest-possible punishment.” He emphasized that the land dispute case remains active in the civil court and has ordered a comprehensive report on the conflict within three days.

The violent incident underscores the severe consequences of unresolved land disputes and has cast a pall over the community in Jaunpur. Law enforcement agencies continue to maintain a heavy presence in Kabiruddin village to restore peace and assure residents that justice will be served.
