About Toilet: Ek Prem Katha

Released in 2017, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is a comedy-drama directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Starring Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar, the film focuses on the crucial issue of sanitation, promoting the importance of toilets and the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural India.

Despite Jaya Bachchan’s comments, the film received positive reviews from critics for its performances and screenplay. It was also a commercial success both in India and overseas. Additionally, Akshay Kumar has Kesari Chapter 2 — The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh in his upcoming projects. Co-starring R Madhavan and Ananya Panday, the film is based on the life of India’s top barrister, C Sankaran Nair. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, it will release on April 18, 2025.
