Prashant Kishor, the renowned political strategist, has shared his predictions for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, asserting that the ruling BJP will secure a victory, despite the challenge posed by a united opposition under the INDIA bloc.
In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Kishor emphasised the importance of a strong opposition, using the example of the farmers’ protest in 2020-2021 that successfully led to the repeal of three controversial farm laws despite the BJP’s majority in the Lok Sabha.
Prashant Kishor highlighted several critical issues that could potentially affect the BJP’s performance: rural distress, unemployment and income disparity. He suggested that these “pain points” might be leveraged by the opposition to mount a significant challenge against the ruling party.
Reflecting on the past and future of the BJP’s electoral success, Prashant Kishor noted the party’s robust presence in northern and western states, which account for a significant portion of the Lok Sabha seats. He also predicted that the BJP might improve its standing in the traditionally challenging southern and eastern regions.

Prashant Kishor criticised the opposition for missing key opportunities to weaken the BJP’s electoral machinery. He pointed to the BJP’s indifferent state election results in 2015-2016, the period following the demonetization decision, and the decline in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approval ratings post the Covid pandemic.
He likened these missed opportunities to dropped catches in a cricket match, allowing a skilled batter to score a century.
Prashant Kishor, who now leads the Jan Suraj party, has a proven track record, having successfully led the BJP to victory in 2014 and subsequently helping other parties like Trinamool Congress, Congress and DMK achieve significant wins in state elections.
His analysis and predictions for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections are closely watched, given his expertise and previous successes in Indian electoral politics.
