Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) unprecedented victory in Haryana, securing a third consecutive term in the state, marking a significant milestone in its political history. Speaking at the BJP headquarters on Tuesday, Modi highlighted the monumental achievement, noting that Haryana, which was formed in 1966, had seen frequent government changes in its previous elections.
“Haryana has seen 13 elections since its formation, and in 10 of those, the government has changed. However, this time, the people of Haryana have broken the trend and trusted the BJP for a third term,” Modi said, acknowledging the voters’ overwhelming support.

A Landmark Victory
Despite the anticipation of massive anti-incumbency and discontent among key voting blocs such as farmers and the Jat community, coupled with concerns over the Agniveer recruitment scheme, the BJP emerged victorious in 48 out of Haryana’s 90 assembly seats. This historic victory not only defied exit polls but also demonstrated the BJP’s ability to consolidate its vote share and expand its seat count.
“The people of Haryana not only made us win but gave us more seats and a higher vote share. They wholeheartedly voted for us, and I thank them for their trust,” Modi added.
Defying Expectations
The BJP’s victory came as a surprise to many, given the challenges faced during the election, including farmer protests and dissatisfaction with government policies. However, the results solidified the party’s stronghold in the state, showcasing its resilience in the face of opposition.
