The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on track to reclaim power in Delhi after 27 years, as early trends from the 2025 Delhi Assembly election results show a commanding lead over the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). If these trends hold, it would signal a dramatic political shift in the capital and a major blow to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, whose party has recently been plagued by allegations of corruption and misgovernance.
As vote counting progressed, the BJP crossed the majority mark in the 70-member Assembly, leading in 48 seats, while AAP lagged behind with 22. Meanwhile, the Congress, struggling to regain its foothold in Delhi’s political landscape, was ahead in just one seat.
