New Delhi: A day after she was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the Delhi Police on Friday gave a clean chit to actor Nora Fatehi in the Rs 200 crore scam, Fatehi’s team said in a statement.
The team added that Delhi Police has stated that Nora Fatehi was not involved in any conspiracy surrounding jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. They added that the police said she wasn’t aware of the crime syndicate.
Nora Fatehi was questioned by the Delhi Police for over six hours on Thursday which came a day after Jacqueline Fernandez was quizzed for nearly eight hours in the same case. The team also added that Nora Fatehi cooperated with the police as a responsible witness.
“Nora did not know about the conman or the crime syndicate. As soon as she realized something was wrong, she raised it with us. Based on Nora’s actions, we will forward the investigation. The investigation is still open and we will come to a final conclusion after considering all the statements, circumstances and evidence,” Nora Fatehi’s team quoted Delhi Police and said.
Reportedly, Chandrasekhar’s wife has a studio in Chennai and Nora Fatehi was called at a function there. She was asked not to take a fee and was told that they would gift her a car. Nora reportedly blocked Chandrasekhar when he called the actor repeatedly thenafter.
As per the report, the EOW has said that Fatehi has no direct link with Jacqueline Fernandez with respect to the case but was called for questioning together with Pinky Irani, who was tasked to introduce Jacqueline Fernandez to the conman and was allegedly paid in crores of rupees for the job.
