Water ATM cards distributed door-to-door in Delhi’s Sanjay Camp under the ‘Har Ghar Jal ‘ campaign, said Lekhi.
New Delhi: Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi, on Tuesday distributed water ATM cards to the residents at Sanjay Camp. She had inaugurated an ultra water filtration plant in March.
Lekhi said that clean and pure water is the right of every citizen and it is our duty to provide it. This card is the identity of new India. This card will provide clean drinking water to the residents of all the areas through the ultra water filtration plant started on World Water Day.
Lekhi said that Water ATM card will help in providing clean and safe drinking water to the residents which will be supplied from the filtration plant. The distribution of this water ATM card is being done as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started this mission. The goal of Jal Jeevan Mission is to provide safe and adequate drinking water to all households by 2024. Those who have been given water ATM cards today, they will be recharged every month by us and every family will get about 20 liters of clean filtered water in a day,” the MoS said.
