On April 26, her uncle announced the death of a premature Palestinian infant who had been rescued from her mother’s womb shortly after the woman had been killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza.
According to her uncle, Rami al-Sheikh, Sabreen Jouda died on April 25 in a Gaza hospital after her health deteriorated and medical personnel were unable to save her.
Sabreen’s home in the southern Gaza city of Rafah was hit by an Israeli airstrike in no time before 12 PM on April 20. Her sister, 4, and her parents were killed.
According to Al-Sheikh, Sabreen was buried on April 25 alongside her father. Local health officials claim that more than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed during the Israel-Hamas war. About two-thirds of the dead are women and children. The wellbeing authorities don’t separate among soldiers and regular folks in their count.
The bodies were taken by first responders to a nearby hospital, where Sabreen al-Sakani, her mother, was given an emergency cesarean section at 30 weeks of pregnancy. The infant was cared for in an incubator in a different hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit until she passed away five days later.
In response to Hamas’ attack on southern Israel on October 7, Israel declared war on the group and launched a devastating air and ground assault in Gaza. The assailants killed around 1,200 individuals in Israel and took another 250 prisoner.
The greater part of the 2.3 million individuals of Gaza have looked for shelter in Rafah, where Israel has led close day to day strikes as it gets ready for a potential hostile in the city.
