West Bengal Chief Minister also attacked the BJP over the release of convicts of Bilkis Bano rape case. She announced a dharna in Kolkata to take action against the accused.

Kolkata: TMC Supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday accused BJP of branding everybody as ‘thieves’. The Chief Minister, hitting out at BJP in a rally, said that the central agencies are being misused to destabilise the elected government in states. “ill-gotten money and central agencies are being used to destabilise the state governments which are being run by the political parties which have different ideology to them.”
Accusing BJP of misusing central agencies to brand everyone as ‘thieves’, the TMC Chief said that she would have “torn out their tongue” if she had not been in politics. She also urged people to defeat BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“They campaign in a manner that we all are thieves while they are innocent. They are using black money to topple state governments,” she said while addressing the rally.
Banerjee said that a campaign has been launched against TMC leaders including her, Abhishek Banerjee, Firhad Hakim and others with malafide intentions.
She questioned that from where BJP is getting money to remove the state government. “They talk about money with TMC leaders but from where they are getting thousands of crores. They have stashed away money through hawala. They must be defeated in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The West Bengal Chief Minister also attacked the BJP over the release of convicts of Bilkis Bano rape case. She announced a dharna in Kolkata to take action against the accused.
Mamata Banerjee also hit out at BJP over the release of 11 convicts in the Bilkis Bano rape case and said that she will hold a 48-hour long dharna in Kolkata to press for action against the accused.
“We will fight for Bilkis Bano. We will stage a 48-hour dharna near Gandhi murti to seek the immediate intervention of the Supreme Court and demand the arrest of the criminals.”
Senior party leader and CM’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee said that BJP’s Ashvamedha horse was stopped by just one valiant lady, our party chief Mamata Banerjee. Bengal has shown BJP that they are not invincible. We will continue our resistance against the divisive forces in the days to come,” he said.
