The leader hits out at Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh for his ‘GNA DNA’s has been modified’ remark. He said that the spokesperson should check his DNA first.
New Delhi: Days after resignation from Congress, veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday slammed the party leaders for targeting him personally. Azad said that the Congress has had issues with me since G-23 leaders wrote a letter regarding structural change in the party. He claimed that he was forced to quit the party which was his home.
The leader, who was Congress in for several decades, said that not a single suggestion of him was taken by the party despite conducting several meetings. “Leaders never wanted anything to write to them and to question them. Even several meetings were convened but to suggestion was taken,” said Azad.
While talking to the media for the first time after quitting the party, he said that Narendra Modi is just an excuse to train guns on me by the Congress leader.
“I was targeted by sycophants in the party for my role in G-23. I was forced to leave home,” said Azad. Earlier three other G-23 leaders Kapil Sibal, Jitin Prasada and Yoganand Shastri had dumped the party and Azad is the fourth leader.
He said that he respects Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the same way as it was 30 years ago. Respect for Rahul Gandhi is same as that befitting Indira Gandhi’s family, Rajiv-Sonia Gandhi’s son. Azad said that personally he prays for his long life.
The former Congress leader said that he could not sleep for a few days before and after writing the resignation letter. “We gave blood for the Congress. People these days are useless. Even spokespersons do not know about us,” he said.
The leader also hit out at Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh for his ‘GNA DNA’s has been modified’ remark. He said that the spokesperson should check his DNA first. He said that despite partying his ways, he has not given up ideology.
