Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Thursday tweeted out a set of photographs and said their leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has suffered a significant injury.
The announcement was made via the party’s social media account, accompanied by photos showing Banerjee bleeding from her forehead.
Banerjee was admitted to Kolkata’s Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) Hospital initially and later transferred to the Bangur Institute of Neurosciences at the IPGME&R – SSKM Hospital Centre for further treatment.
Following stitches and necessary examinations, Mamata Banerjee was discharged and taken back to her residence, accompanied by her nephew Abhishek Banerjee and other family members.
“Our chairperson @MamataOfficial sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers,” the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) posted on X, urging support for her recovery.

Meanwhile, several politicians tweeted out prayers and wished Mamata Banerjee a speedy recovery. The list also included Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Trinamool Congress MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray shared that Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar had reached out to inquire about Banerjee’s health.
“Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, has inquired about the health of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Ms. Mamata Banerjee, expressing his deep anguish and wishing a speedy recovery,” Sukhendu Sekhar Ray wrote.
West Bengal BJP chief Sukanta Majumdar also extended his well wishes for Mamata’s speedy recovery.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concern, stating, “Shocked to see this. Praying for your speedy recovery Didi. God bless you.”
Former Andhra Pradesh CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu wrote, “Wishing West Bengal Chief Minister, @MamataOfficial Ji, a speedy recovery. May she regain her health soon.”
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed his concern, saying, “Shocked and deeply concerned about the road accident involving Hon’ble Chief Minister of West Bengal @MamataOfficial didi. My thoughts are with her during this difficult time, and I’m wishing her a speedy recovery.”
Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti also shared her sentiments, writing, “Distressed to see pictures of an injured Mamata Banerjee after sustaining serious injuries today. Prayers for her swift recovery.”
