Kolkata Law College Rape Case Updates | In a deeply disturbing incident, a 24-year-old woman from South Calcutta Law College has accused three men of gang-raping her on campus after she refused a marriage proposal from one of the accused. The survivor, who has filed a detailed complaint, cited by several reports, also alleged that the crime was filmed and she was blackmailed into silence.
The assault reportedly occurred inside the college premises on June 25 between 7:30 pm and 10:50 pm. The main accused has been identified as 31-year-old Monojit Mishra, a former student and current general secretary of the South Kolkata district unit of the Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP). The two other accused, Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukherjee alias Pramit Mukhopadhyay, are current students at the college.
Survivor Alleges Threats, Blackmail and Panic Attack During Assault
According to her complaint, the ordeal began when Mishra pressured her to marry him. Upon her refusal, citing an existing relationship, he allegedly threatened to harm her boyfriend and implicate her parents in false legal cases. “I denied and fought back by not letting him do anything and pushing him back. I cried and asked him to let me go,” she wrote.
Despite her pleas, she was allegedly confined to the college campus. The accused reportedly locked the main college gate, dragged her into the guard’s room, and raped her. “I touched his feet but he didn’t let me go .. . They again took me to the room .. . they took me to the guard room forcefully, undressed me and started forcefully raping me,” she stated, adding that her panic attacks and shortness of breath were ignored.

Eventually, she was allowed to leave the campus later that night, under continued threats of harm.
