In a groundbreaking move to ensure timely installment payments under the Abua Awas Yojana, the Jharkhand government has launched the Beneficiary Level Geo-Tag App. This innovative digital tool will enable beneficiaries to geo-tag their under-construction houses in real-time, ensuring transparency and efficiency in fund disbursement.
Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh emphasized that various challenges arise during the housing allocation process. The new app is designed to address these issues, ensuring that beneficiaries receive their installment payments without delays. Minister Singh stated that this initiative would yield long-term benefits by eliminating discrepancies in fund allocation.
Ensuring Transparency in Financial Assistance Disbursement
As per the Rural Development Department, the Abua Awas Yojana provides financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh per beneficiary, disbursed in four installments. Rural Development Secretary K. Srinivasan has issued directives to all District Commissioners and Deputy Development Commissioners, urging them to accelerate the scheme’s implementation. He has instructed officials to collaborate with Village Organizations (VOs), formed and managed by JSLPS, to assist beneficiaries in housing construction.

Srinivasan has stressed the need for absolute transparency in installment payments. To achieve this, each panchayat will categorize beneficiaries into groups of four, ensuring systematic fund distribution. Additionally, pending installments will be disbursed on a pre-determined Wednesday of each month, ensuring uniformity and accountability.
App Available on Google Play Store and Abua Awas Portal
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) Commissioner and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) Nodal Officer, Mrityunjay Kumar Baranwal, has instructed officials to expedite the app’s rollout. Beneficiaries can download the Beneficiary Level Geo-Tag App from the Google Play Store or the official Abua Awas Yojana portal.
To register, users must enter their mobile number and verify it via OTP authentication. Geo-tagged data submitted by beneficiaries will undergo verification by the Panchayat Sevak within seven days. The Panchayat Sevak will then have the authority to approve or reject submissions, with valid reasons recorded for any rejection.
