An FIR has been lodged against former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with two IPS officers, following a complaint by TDP MLA Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju on charges of attempt to murder and others.
Rama Krishnam Raju, previously an MP from Narasapuram under the YSRCP banner, filed the complaint alleging his illegal arrest from Hyderabad by Andhra Pradesh CID officers. He claimed that he was taken to Andhra Pradesh without first being produced before a local court in Hyderabad for a transit arrest warrant. This led to a case being registered at Nagarampalem police station in Guntur.

On May 14, 2021, Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju was arrested on sedition charges after petitioning the CBI special court in Hyderabad to cancel the bail granted to Jagan Mohan Reddy in a disproportionate assets case. CID officials took him into custody under IPC Sections 124A (sedition), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), and 505 (public mischief). The Supreme Court later granted him bail.
In his complaint, Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju accused former CID chief P V Sunil Kumar and former Intelligence IG PSR Anjaneyulu of physically assaulting him at the CID office.
He claimed they beat him with a belt and lathis and denied him necessary medication for a heart surgery he had undergone four months prior.

Raju further alleged that the officers acted on orders from then CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, forcing him to disclose his mobile phone password under duress and threatening him with severe consequences if he continued to criticize Jagan.
The police have now registered an FIR against Jagan Mohan Reddy and the two CID officers based on Raju’s allegations. The case has been filed under sections 120 b (criminal conspiracy), 166 (public servants disobeying law and order), 167 (public servants intentionally creating incorrect documents), 197 (signing false certificate), 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing hurt), 465 (forgery), 506 (criminal intimidation) r/w 34 (co-perpetrators equally liable for a crime) of the IPC, the TOI reported.
Raju, 62, who won the Narsapuram Lok Sabha seat in Andhra Pradesh in 2019 on a YSRCP ticket, quickly fell out with the party post-elections. He has since launched numerous attacks against Jagan and the YSRCP. His arrest followed a YouTube post in which he accused then Adviser, Public Affairs, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy of inciting the YSRCP’s social media cell to post against him.
