The Israel army’s recent strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon have intensified near-daily exchanges of fire along the border between Israel and Lebanon. The strikes, which targeted approximately 40 Hezbollah terror sites, including storage facilities and weaponry, come amidst escalating tensions in the region.
The Army in a statement said, ” 40 Hezbollah terrorist targets were struck a short while ago, including storage facilities, weaponry and additional terror infrastructures used by the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the area.”

Last week, Iran’s Isfahan province experienced a series of drone and missile strikes, purportedly carried out by Israel. These strikes targeted Iran’s nuclear facility and air defence systems, leading to heightened tensions between the two countries.
Although Israel neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the attacks, American news agencies attributed them to Israel.
Satellite imagery analysed by media outlets revealed the aftermath of the strikes, indicating significant damage to the targeted region. Particularly notable was the absence of the Russian-made S-300 Surface-Air anti-ballistic missile defence system, previously positioned in the area. This suggests Israel’s ability to bypass Iranian air defence systems, as the strikes reportedly occurred without entering Iranian airspace.
Despite Iran’s military claiming no detection of foreign entities during the attacks, satellite images showed damage to the facility, including to the S-300 defence system’s radar. This indicates successful penetration by Israeli weapons, despite the system’s formidable capabilities.
The incident highlights ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, with each side denying involvement. However, Western officials believe Israel’s actions send a deliberate message to Iran, demonstrating its ability to evade Iranian defence systems.
The delivery of the S-300 air defence system to Iran by Russia in 2016 added complexity to regional dynamics, given Israel’s concerns about its capabilities. Despite past pressure leading to the suspension of the deal, Russia completed the delivery, further complicating the geopolitical landscape in the region.
