Israel’s military has announced that Iran has launched several drones towards Israel, with an expected arrival time of several hours.
This development comes close on the heels of an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Syria, which resulted in the death of seven members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Daniel Hagari, the spokesman for Israel’s army, stated on Saturday that the drones were launched from Iranian territory.
Here’s what Daniel Hagari said:
“Together with our partners, the IDF is operating at full force to defend the State of Israel—and the people of Israel. This is a mission that we are determined and ready to fulfill.”

He also confirmed that Israel was prepared for this action. The incident raises tensions between Iran and Israel, which is already strained by recent military confrontations.
In a tweet, the State of Israel’s official Twitter account wrote, “A short while ago, Iran launched UAVs from within its territory toward Israel. The IDF is on high alert and is constantly monitoring the operational situation. ”
It added, “The IDF Aerial Defense Array is on high alert, along with IAF fighter jets and Israeli Navy vessels that are on a defense mission in Israeli airspace. The IDF is monitoring all targets. We ask the public to adhere to and follow the instructions of the Home Front Command and the official IDF announcements regarding the matter.”

Israel has remained on high alert since its undisclosed attack on Damascus on April 1.
Although Israel has not officially commented on the attack, Iran has vowed revenge, heightening expectations of a retaliatory strike.
Earlier on Saturday, Iranian armed forces intercepted a container ship with alleged links to Israel near the crucial Strait of Hormuz, further escalating tensions in the region.
Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the situation, stating that Israel is prepared for a “direct attack from Iran.”
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized that Israel is “closely monitoring a planned attack” by Iran and its regional allies. The statements underscore the escalating tensions and the delicate situation between the two nations.
